Welcome to Trying to Adult RVA (tryingtoadultrva.com). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, membership platform, and events (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & Account
You must be at least 18 years old to register or participate. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or any conduct that disrupts or harms the community.
2. Event Registrations, Cancellations & Refunds
Event registrations may be subject to capacity limits, host/venue requirements, or schedule changes. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events for reasons including weather, safety, or host availability. Any refunds or credits will follow the event-specific policy shown during checkout. Please review those details at the time of registration.
3. Community Conduct & Safety
Be respectful to hosts, volunteers, and other attendees. Harassment, unsafe behavior, or unlawful activity is prohibited. We may remove participants or refuse entry when necessary to protect attendee safety or event quality.
4. Communications & SMS Program Terms
By opting in, you agree that Trying to Adult RVA may send you text messages related to event registrations, reminders, updates, and (if separately opted in) marketing communications.
- Opt-in: Consent is obtained via unchecked checkboxes at checkout and/or your member dashboard. Marketing SMS requires separate consent and is not a condition of purchase.
- Frequency: Message frequency varies.
- Rates: Message & data rates may apply.
- Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to opt out of SMS; reply HELP for help.
- Identification: Every message will identify Trying to Adult RVA as the sender.
- Delivery: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Fees, Taxes & Payment
Prices displayed at checkout exclude applicable taxes or third-party fees unless stated otherwise. You authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge your selected payment method for registrations and memberships you purchase.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, graphics, and materials on the Site are owned by Trying to Adult RVA or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without prior written consent.
7. User Content
Where the Services allow you to submit content (e.g., profiles, messages, photos), you grant us a limited license to host and display that content solely for operating the Services. Do not upload content you do not have rights to, or that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing.

You agree not to misuse the Services, including attempting to gain unauthorized access, scraping, reverse engineering, interfering with operation, or using the Services for illegal purposes.

We may link to third-party sites or integrate third-party services (e.g., SMS delivery providers). We are not responsible for their content or practices. Review their policies before interacting with them.

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trying to Adult RVA and its organizers, hosts, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Services or attendance at events. Participation in events is voluntary and at your own risk.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Trying to Adult RVA and its affiliates, organizers, hosts, volunteers, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to the Services & Terms
We may modify or discontinue portions of the Services at any time. We may also update these Terms occasionally; the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Venue for disputes will be in state or federal courts located in Virginia.
