Park, Pool, and BBQ Day

Join us for a fun summer event! We will have an all-day rental of a Shelter at Pocahontas State Park. The shelter is just a short walk from the pool and kayak rental! You can also opt to go on a hike if that is more of your preference. To make it an even better day, we will have lunch from ZZQ! Food options will include brisket, sausage, jalapeño mac and cheese, and a seasonal vegetable side! If you haven’t had ZZQ before, it’s the BEST BBQ in Richmond (in Sam’s opinion). Please bring your own drinks of choice.
Lunch will be available at 12:30. Please arrive by then to enjoy lunch with the group. If you plan to arrive late, please message the event host in advance so we can package up a premade plate for you and keep it in a cooler. The group may be in different areas based on the time so keep an eye on event comments/chats.
Price to join this event is $35 for premium members and $39 for everyone else. Spots are first purchased first in. Tickets must be purchased no later than July 18th to ensure enough food is ordered!
Once you purchase your spot, please also RSVP for this event on Meetup when it is posted.
Extra costs! There is a $10 per car admission fee to get into the park (carpool with others to make this cheaper per person if you’d like) there is also a $10 per person fee if you wish to go to the pool!
The shelter is covered so the event will be rain or shine but let’s manifest shine for this day!! When you enter the park, ask for directions to shelter 3 to find the group! The shelter is also only a short walk to bathrooms.
REFUND POLICY – PLEASE READ BELOW!
Once you purchase a ticket, you are expected to show for that event. If you can no longer attend, you are responsible for finding a replacement. The replacement must be a current Trying to Adult RVA member unless otherwise approved by someone on the leadership team. It doesn’t matter if they are a regular member or premium member. The best way to find a replacement is to post a comment on the specific Meetup event page. Once you find a replacement, message Sam and she will assist with the exchange. If you cannot find someone to claim your spot, you will forfeit the cost paid.
