May 20th 2:00PM
May 20, 2023
$12.00Join us for a private tour of the Virginia Holocaust Museum.
The Virginia Holocaust Museum is proud to be the permanent home of the Jewish-American Hall of Fame exhibit. Over 50 Jewish American men and women ― who have made important contributions in all fields of endeavor ― have been inducted since 1969.
There are Jewish-American Hall of Fame honorees in Business, Entertainment, Literature, Medicine, Military, Music, Public Service, Religion, Science, Social Welfare, and Sports. In addition to the famous names, visitors will discover relatively unknowns like Gertrude Elion, whose medical research has saved millions of lives around the world ― and earned her a Nobel Prize in Medicine; Asser Levy, one of the first Jewish settlers in America, who fought anti-Semitism and sued for the right to bear arms in the citizens’ guards; Ernestine Rose, pioneer fighter for Women’s Rights; and “Rosie” Rosenthal, World War II Flying “Ace”.
Price to join this event is $10 for premium members and $12 for everyone else. Space is limited to 15 people.
Once you purchase your spot, please also RSVP for this event on Meetup when it is posted.
There is a free parking lot! Look for the fenced lot right across from the building. We will enter via the 21st street corner entrance. There are big green doors.
REFUND POLICY – PLEASE READ BELOW!
Once you purchase a ticket, you are expected to show for that event. If you can no longer attend, you are responsible for finding a replacement. The replacement must be a current Trying to Adult RVA member unless otherwise approved by someone on the leadership team. It doesn’t matter if they are a regular member or premium member. The best way to find a replacement is to post a comment on the specific Meetup event page. Once you find a replacement, message Sam and she will assist with the exchange. If you cannot find someone to claim your spot, you will forfeit the cost paid.
