Hike at Forest Hill Park Trail
Head out with us to end your Monday on a positive note with this 2.7-mile loop trail near Richmond, Virginia. This trail is considered, according to Alltrails, as a moderately challenging route and is expected to take an average of 1+ hour to complete. It has plenty of hills, some stairs, and may be muddy/wet in areas. There is also a creek crossing so hiking boots or waterproof shoes are highly recommended!
This park, which was in succession once a quarry, an estate, and then an amusement park, is listed in Virginia’s Historic Register, has a lake, tennis courts, picnic shelters, a children’s playground, and many paths and trails are popular for walking and jogging. It’s also a partial wetland, so there’s opportunity to see lots of wildlife!
Parking/Transportation:
This is ample free parking at Forest Hill Park. The park is also accessible on the GRTC.
Meeting Point:
We will meet at the the Forest Hill parking lot, which is located at the main entrance; at New Kent Ave and W 42nd Street. From there, we will head onto Forest Hill Park Loop.
Weather:
This event may be cancelled due to inclement weather. The event host will make the call one hour prior to the start of the event. If the event is cancelled, all paid tickets will be refunded.
Tickets:
This event is free for all members and $5 for non-members. All attendees must have a confirmed ticket to attend.
