Get ready for a different kind of BYOB – Bring Your Own Ball! Whether it’s a ball, a racket, a frisbee, or some other preferred sporting equipment, feel free to bring it for a few hours of pick-up games with the group. (Note: Golf and Archery are not allowed in the park.)
This will be a great opportunity to meet others, find some friends who share similar interests, and hopefully break a sweat. Byrd Park is a 287-acre park in Richmond’s Near West End is one of the city’s most popular. No alcoholic beverages or glass containers are allowed in city parks.
Parking/Transportation:
This is ample street parking at Byrd Park. It is recommended to park on Shields Lake Drive, as that is near where we will meet. The park is also accessible on the GRTC; but does not have a direct stop – the bus line is a few streets over from the park.
Meeting Point:
We will meet at Byrd Park, on the fields between Shields Lake and Shields Lake Drive, where there is ample space for running, kicking, and throwing your heart out. This is near the Maintenance Shop, on the opposite side of the lake from the Shields Lake Shelter and Parking Lot.
Weather:
This event may be cancelled due to inclement weather. The event host will make the call one hour prior to the start of the event. If the event is cancelled all paid tickets will be refunded.
Tickets:
This event is free for all members and $5 for non-members. All attendees must have a confirmed ticket to attend.
